A local lad, born in Amble, Phil wouldn't make the grade at Newcastle after making only 1 Cup appearance. A loan spell in Edinburgh with Hibs also didn't work out and Airey now plays lower league football in the North East moving to Blyth and having a spell at Whitley Bay.
