Joining his boyhood club at just 9 years old, whilst Adam fulfilled his dream of playing for Newcastle United he never would manage that feeling of scoring in the famous black and white stripes. In 2014 he made his debut as an 86th minute substitute against Fulham. His opportunities were limited however and a number of loan moves followed to Coventry, Barnsley, Bolton and finally Blackburn Rovers before making that move permanent. He represented England at all levels up to and including the U21s where he played five games and scored once.
