Not that unheard of I hear you say, well no, not until you realise that his one appearance in 1906 (his first spell at the club) was as a left winger, only to return 4 years later as a goalkeeper!!

Even then, as an understudy to Jimmy Lawrence, his appearances would be limited, but he would play a further 14 times for the club, although an able understudy.
