Over 250 appearances for Oxford, his local club, making his debut in 1979 aged just 17, Kevin would show great promise to the point breaking into the England U21 squad for whom he played 4 times.
A couple of seasons at QPR would lead to his big break at Newcastle United. But despite playing over 150 games for United the Magpies fans would never really take to the lad. He would be in the side that slipped out of the First Division in the 88/89 season, and would eventually be pushed out fo the side by the one and only Rob Lee.
His claim for fame in a Newcastle shirt was actually in the goalkeeping jersey, coming on for the injured Tommy Wright in what would eventually be a 3-2 win against Birmingham City.
After his release from the Magpies he went on to play for Stockport, Stevenage and Yeovil before returning to Oxford where he was eventually sacked as player manager.
