A back up goalkeeper at Newcastle United for some 9 years, the 108 appearances made by Mick was at least some token for the loyalty showed for the club.
He would be on the wrong end of a 3-1 loss in the FA Cup Final of 1937 for Preston North End against Sunderland, one of only 12 appearances he made for PNE after leaving United.
He would also go on to play in the third tier of English football with Ipswich, and with his last game coming at the tender age of over 43, he remains on of the oldest players to ever play the professional game.
