A Wales International (capped 9 times), Ollie as he was know spent 9 years at Newcastle United in the 60's and early 70's.

Starting his career not too far from home with Newport County, he would leave for England after just two years to join Norwich where he would prove a valuable asset to the Canaries during his three year spell with the club.

A move to Newcastle followed.

His greatest achievement would be being part of the Fair Cup winning side of 1969 (although he also won the League Cup with Norwich their first ever major trophy), whilst he would also be the first substitute ever to be used by Newcastle United after the introduction of the substitution rule in 1972.

A versatile player who would not only be used at right back, but who could also be regularly seen at right-half and even occasionally as a striker, Ollie was a huge hit with the Newcastle faithful.

Only an injury saw his career ended with the Magpies, a testimonial with Sunderland his prize for his wonderful years of service.
