Capped 12 times for his country, 'Tommy' had a career that spanned over 30 years in the game.
His first professional season was at Leeds United, but having only made the pitch 4 times for the club his breakthrough season was at Bournemouth, where he stayed for 2 years and played 66 times.
Moving to Newcastle United in the summer of 1952 he would enjoy 4 years at the Magpies.
He'd later play for Portsmouth and Bristol amongst others, whilst his management career included Grimsby and even a caretaker spell as manager of Everton.
