Papiss Demba Cisse will go down as one of THE outstanding strikers of Newcastle's Premier League era.

Having joined from FC Freiburg in 2012 he would immediately hit the ground running, coming on as a substitute for the injured Leon Best after just 14 minutes and going on to score the winning goal in the 71st minute with a magnificent volley.

His scoring antics against Wolves and West Brom in his 3rd and 4th games for the club (a brace in both) made him the quickest player to get to five goals for the club. Another brace followed against Liverpool in the next game and then he did it again in the following game against Swansea. After failing to score in only two of the first eight games he was not on nine goals in eight games. A new record for the club, surpassing Hughie Gallagher.

It was 10 in 9 after the Bolton game.
And 11 in 10 following a game versus Stoke City.

A trip to Stamford Bridge would surely halt the run, no? No! You'll never see two better goals from the same player in a single game in all your days (Google it). One of the two, quite frankly, defied physics.

13 in 11.

His goals lifted Newcastle United to fifth. Their highest position, by some considerable distance, of the Ashley years.

A total of 37 goals in 117 league games was a fantastic record and for all who saw him, and his partnership with Demba Ba, it was a privilege to watch.

Cisse played 36 times for his country. Scoring 17 times.
