Bob won a League Championship with Newcastle in 1927. A tank of a man, at 14 stone whilst only 5'10", he would be the ideal playing partner to Newcastle legend Hughie Gallagher.

An interesting fact about Bob is that whilst he played 77 games for Newcastle between 1923 and 1928 he didn't make a single cup appearance.

He would go on to play for not just Liverpool but also briefly Nottingham Forest before returning to the north east and North Shields.

Bob died in 1970.
